Why did Nebraska do so bad in 2010?  Did they really do that bad?

Nebraskas loss yesterday to a 6-6 University of Washington Huskies team was pretty embarrasing.  I mean its the Huskies!  Do they even offer football scholarships?

I’ve heard a lot of excuses this year:

-Injuries

-Taylor Martinez

-Injuries

-Taylor Martinez….

The big one seems to be that Taylor Martinez is a bad person…  That he doesn’t communicate with his team, is arrogant, etc.  But isn’t that the Coachs job to motivate your QB?  I mean who really cares if Taylor isn’t communicating by himself…  Bo Pelini should have forced them to go camping at Mahoney State park every weekend until they all became friends.

The frustrating thing about the Nebraska Cornhuskers 2010 blunder season, is that if we had any type of an offense, we would have gone undefeated.  I mean we really had a good defense.  Every loss we had was to teams that we could have easily stomped.  It was kind of like a 50-50 chance each game.  Like you really didn’t know what team would show up.

That tells me that there’s a lack of leadership at the highest level.  The Coaches… Bo Pelini to be specific.  It doesn’t really look like Taylor Martinez respects the coach.  So how the heck would you be motivated to be that good?

Unfortunately for Nebraska Cornhusker football fans, the 2010 season ends another disappointing season where we spent most of the games saying things like: “If he just would a,” “Oh so close.” “I can’t believe they made that call,” “Oh, the refs screwed us,” “But we had a couple good play calls and passes,” and the ultimate favorite Nebraska line after a loss:  “We deserved to lose with how we played.”

2011?  Oh, it’s going to be miserable.  We’ve spent 15 years developing a team to hang with Texas and Florida teams.  Quicker, smaller, more agile players.  Now we’re going to the Big 10, where it’s like Nebraska used to be.  Big 300+ pound linemen.  Monsters!  It’s going to be a bad year in 2011.  And worse yet, as Bo Pelini tries to figure out how to have an offense, his only experience is with the past.  Now the Cornhuskers are heading to a brand new league with a completely different style. 

Maybe we should just hire Jo Paterno now, even if he’s 113 years old.  Because Bo’s not going to have a clue in 2011.

I just stumbled upon Oprah Winfreys last show.  I saw 5 minutes of her interview with the Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling in Scotland.   They talked about the fun of being billionaires, the struggles, what it felt like, etc…  I was amazed at how awfull it was to watch these two ladies chit chat with each other about being mega rich.  I turned the channel obviously, but for some reason was drawn back to see if it got any better a few minutes later or if she had gone on to interview someone else…. No it still sucked.  Still two ultra rich women chatting about being amazingly rich.  I mean, it can’t be hard to have a billion dollars…  All you have to do is buy a million dollar house with cash, and spend about 100,000 a year on living a normal life, and you’ll still die with say… 900 million?  Even if you didn’t invest a thing… So give me a break.

Was this really her last show or was it just a re-run.  I’m in shock if Oprahs last show is about the struggles of two women being rich.  What a shame.

Isn’t the whole Oprahs quitting thing funny?  I mean you quit your tv show to start your own tv station.  Play it up as an end of an era, get a bunch of sponsors to pay through the teeth to give away some Volkswagen Beetles and other stuff, and then come Monday of 2011, we’re just going to be inundated with 24 hours a day of Oprah.  We’re going to unfortunately, see more and more Oprah now.  I hope it’s not on a lot of the standard programming.  Hopefully you can only get it when you buy the 600 channel package from your cable company.

Jon will work with you over and over again until you find the right find for you.  I rarely find realtors that aren’t just looking for the easy sale.  The wierd thing about the real estate agent industry is you basically just try to get as much stuff listed as possible and you let the machine do the work for you.  You sit back and make your 3% for not really doing a lot.  The other common thing I find with realtors is that if they don’t think something will sell easy or if you’ll buy easy, they won’t give you the time.  They might not even take the time to look at a bargain if they think it won’t close that easy.  At the end of the day, a real estate agent doesn’t get paid unless something closes so remember that when hiring one.

Jon Spear will work like a dog for you.  He drug me all over the place and relentlessly sought out not only the perfect house for me, but a really good deal.  That’s pretty rare.  Also, finding someone that is not opposed to putting out a low offer to try to really get a deal for you.  Think about it.  When a realtor puts out a low offer for you the buyer.  All they are really doing is dropping the amount they will get paid.  It takes someone with a high moral and ethical standard to really want to lower the amount they make in return for you getting a better deal.

That’s the kind of man Jon Spears is, and I would highly recommend him to sell or buy your next home.

I’ve tried Bollers and Lloyds and they’ve both tried to take me to the cleaners, but Aamco has honest prices and honest assessments of what needs done.  Ask for Jim, the main front counter person.

I keep an older truck extremely maintained, and when taking it for maintenance to bollers and lloyds, they both tried to sell me “Much needed” maintenance that I had just personally performed less than a month earlier.  Actually, Bollers, and Lloyds both could not diagnose a problem with our car and only offered thousands of dollars of work to be done, but couldn’t tell us what the problem was.  Aamco figured it out immediately and it cost us 130.00.

I honestly think the guys at Bollers auto repair on 1138 4th Street Coeur d Alene Idaho, 83814 208-664-9319, are total scam artists.  I couldn’t believe the amount of junk they tried to sell me, and the amount of it that had literally been done less than a month earlier.  They even told me my brake fluid was bad, and I had just done it… For those of you that don’t know, brake fluid gets replaced about… maybe every 10 years or so.  I bet they didn’t even look at it, and just offer it on every estimate thinking no ones ever done it.  Also, they couldn’t figure out the simple problem on our car that Aamco fixed for $130.00.

These guys are basically a glorified Jiffy Lube selling you items you don’t need.  They call themselves a mechanic shop, but they aren’t even close.  They do run a lot of coupons in the paper, so you might find a good maintenace deals, but when they try to sell you a laundry list of things you don’t need yet, just tell them no.

I always thought Aamco was just transmissions, but I got referred to them for engine work, and have used them about 5 or 6 times now, and always walked away happy with the end result and the price.  The nice thing about their transmissions also is that they have a nationwide network.

Mr Stubbs was one of the best loan officers I’ve dealt with, and I’ve dealt with a lot of them.

Mr Stubbs went far and beyond the call of the normal mortgage loan officer and worked overtime to get our loan done.  In a time when loans are harder and harder to come by, and the banks are getting more and more regulations on house loans,  Mr Stubbs and Wells Fargo made my loan painless and simple.  All this and they gave us a great fixed rate for 30 years, not much of any closing costs, and no early buyout penalty.  I was nervous at times just because of what you hear on the news, but Mr Stubbs came through and kept telling me there wouldn’t be a problem. 

In the end, we got the home we wanted, closed on time, and Wells Fargo came through for us.  If you’re looking for a home loan in Coeur d Alene Idaho, I would highly recommend Mr. Stubbs of Wells Fargo Mortgage.

I get really sick of spam email.  I’ve tried reporting people to the FCC, and it takes about 20 minutes to fill out the form.  You then usually get a “rejection of caring” letter about 1-2 months later, saying you didn’t fill out the 20 minute interview correctly. Seriously… What’s the point?  Some day, I would like to take the list of emails that do spam, and actually try to get something done with it.

I would like to start this post as a board to recommend honest Coeur d Alene doctors, and call out the crooks like Dr. Janice Adele Lindstrom M.D. license number M-8963 of Canfield Family Medicine.  I would welcome anymore comments on how Janice Adele Lindstrom has screwed over you as I prepare my complaint on her medical license. 

I went to Dr. J. Adele Lindstrom M.D. at Canfield Family Medicine of 700 West Ironwood Drive CDA, ID 83814 208-768-4808 for a physical.  I was sceduled for a physical.  When I arrived, I was told I would have a meeting to decide if the Dr. would accept me as a client.  I asked how much the meeting would cost.  They wouldn’t tell me, but said it was minimal, and insurance should cover it.  I said I would like to know up front how much it would cost in case insurance wouldn’t cover it.  They wouldn’t tell me, and himhawed around about what it could cost.  Ultimately I trusted them, and I guess that was my mistake.  Lesson learned.  Always get a price upfront from a doctor, so you can see how honest they are with their billing.  So I was there for about 5-10 minutes, and she scheduled multiple tests, etc for the future… and a physical, which I tried to schedule the first time.  Total waste of time.  She then billed the insurance company $239.00 for our 10 minute talk, and my waste of an hour, where she was “Deciding if she would accept me as a patient.”

So she ripped off the insurance company and sent me a bill for what they wouldn’t pay.  I complained because if I knew that’s how she operated, I wouldn’t have gone to her.  She then sends me to collections. After collecting almost 200 bucks from the insurance company for her 10 minutes.

 I would hate to see how bad she screws over her patients that actually have real work done to them.  Stay away, you might be filing medical bankruptcy by the time Dr. J Adele Lindstrom M.D. is done with you.

Isn’t this amazing how screwed up our health care system is?  If you went into any other business and was interested in their services, do you think they would charge you 1434.00 an hour to decide if you are worth their time?

Even lawyers usually have a free first hour consultation.  Not doctors.  Their entire system is set up on what they can get away with billing the insurance company. 

I think the real problem with our health care system is deductables.  The way it is now, you can’t get an up front price from crooks like Dr. Janice Adele Lindstrom M.D. of Canfield Familly Medicine.  They almost seem offended when you try to ask.   They just bill these obscene prices to your insurance company.  So even if you have good health care insurance, like I do, you could still get screwed over and not know what you’re going to get a bill for.  You’re basically just stuck with whatever the insurance company decides is fraudulent. 

So all this talk about covering the uninsured, and how awesome our new health care bill will be.  Does it ultimately regulate how doctors bill?  It seems to me like this is the big mess that costs so much.  You have crooks like Janice Lindstrom who abuse the system in silly billing practices, then just send these crazy bills that the insurance company won’t pay to you and send you to collections if you refuse to pay it.  You really don’t have a good option because a doctor wants you to sign something up front saying you’ll pay whatever the insurance doesn’t cover, but the doctor won’t tell you upfront what it will cost.

Seems really screwed up.  Needless to say, I’d love some comments on doctors in Coeur d Alene, Idaho 83814 that someone might recommend that has honest billing practices.  Can you imagine how bad Dr. Janice Adele Lindstrom M.D. of Canfield Family Medicine would screw you over if she actually did some extensive work on you?  If her rate is 1400/hour and has that much arrogance, she has probably ruined the finances of most her patients.  I’m thankfull I found out she’s a crook before I got too far into it with her.

Why do people carry guns into bars and shoot people from Washington in CDA?  I was blown away to see my phone guys mug shot on the evening news.  His face was so messed up, I could barely recognize him!  I guess he got off the hook, but the fact remains that he shot a couple guys and was out drinking at 12:30 at night.  It is just really wierd to carry a gun around in your pants.

What I wonder is if it was the other way around if he would have gotten off.  Couer d Alene is a little wierd and snobby about this type of stuff.  I am just guessing that if a Washington business guy was downtown and shot a couple local Idaho dudes, that he wouldn’t get off.  No one really seemed to care that much about the shooting.

The real bummer is that these guys presented a real challenge to Verizon and Time warner cable.  Will Convertec survive?  The odds are that they won’t.  There was so much potential because they could really do some cool things for you and save you a ton of money.  It just feels good and right to support a couple young local business people who can offer a unique service and provide it cheaper than the big bad telecom companies.  I see they have already moved back to Spokane and out of their Coeur d Alene Idaho office, so only time will tell if they can get their act together and keep their company going.  Let’s hope because it’s always great to have an option to Time Warner Cable and Verizon even if the options owner shoots people after they make fun of him…

Why is it that Idaho contractors are so unreliable.  I think it’s because it costs $30.00 to get a “Contractor” license, no bond, and not much paperwork or insurance.  In Washington a contractor has a lot more ongoing paperwork, thus making them better business people.  I have been trying to find legit framers for almost 6 months in Coeur d Alene Idaho.  I have called at least 12 contractors, had about half not show up to the bid appointments, and the others look at the job and not call me back after telling me they would have a bid for me in a few days.  Nothing too big.  Just a covered patio…  Seems like Idaho framers and contractors aren’t really hungry for work, and don’t really understand general business standards.
